Very shortly after the RCMP responded to a complaint of an armed robbery, they had a 55-year-old male suspect arrested and in custody without incident.
At 8:20 a.m. this morning the RCMP was dispatched to an armed robbery that had just occurred at a local hotel. A lone, masked male brandished a knife at the staff and demanded money. The male made off an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.
Responding RCMP members located the male and through investigation determined that he was the suspect involved. He is currently in RCMP custody and awaiting a release hearing. The name of the suspect cannot be released as charges have not formally been sworn at this point.
The staff at the hotel were not injured during this incident.
Editor’s Note: RCMP have not disclosed the location of the hotel or the town in the Detachment and we have not been able to contact RCMP for details.
Shows you just how sick this world has gotten!
I did see RCMP outside the Zoo at 8:45 this morning. I wonder if it was related as it is unusual to see police at the Zoo so early in the morning.
Tania Stepanick THIS is what was happening this morning!
Ah thanks Jenny Lynn, was wondering why they were all over that area
