Town of Morinville employees test positive for COVID-19

Morinville, Alta. – Today, Chief Administrative Officer, Stephane Labonne has confirmed that the Town of Morinville has had two employees test positive for COVID-19.

“I want to ensure everyone that we are responding calmly and diligently and that our priority remains focused on the health and safety of our staff and our residents,” said Stephane Labonne. “Our Senior Leadership Team actively works to plan, communicate and action the many necessary steps to manage COVID-19. The staff who tested positive are following self-isolation protocols in accordance with Alberta Health Services (AHS) regulations”

As per AHS Protocol, Public Health Officials will be following up with the employee’s colleagues and are in the process of notifying those who need to self-isolate and/or get tested. The employee’s places of work have been vigorously and thoroughly disinfected. The names or specific details of their work locations will not be shared to protect their privacy.

“As an employer, we will support whatever testing and self-isolation requirements are needed, and employees will not suffer financially as a result. We care about these employee’s well-being and will continue to be in regular contact to provide support. When they have fully recovered and/or self-isolation and testing requirements are met, we will welcome our colleagues back to work.”
