On Sunday, Sept. 25, the St. Jean Baptiste Parish welcomes all area residents and guests to a special Mass to be held at 10 a.m. at Ecole Notre Dame School, located at 9717 Morinville Drive.
This is the Blue Mass. This celebration expresses the support and gratitude for first responders, whether they are still working or retired and their families.
The event is a way to express prayerful support and gratitude to the police, military, firefighters, corrections officers, peace officers, EMS and medical personnel.
In speaking with Parish Council member Noreen Radford, she mentioned that every moment of every day a legion of dedicated men and women stand ready to come forward, putting themselves in harm’s way on our behalf.
This Special Blue Mass is dedicated to the Morinville Fire Department and all surrounding Fire Departments, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Alberta Health Services and all First Respondents in our area who answered the call on June 30, 2021, and fought so valiantly.
If you are presently working in or have worked in any of these areas or know someone who has, you are encouraged to attend.
