Morinville Jets

After back-to-back wins on their opening weekend, the Morinville Jets lost 5-4 in another back-and-forth game.

The Jets started the night leading 2-0, their second goal on a powerplay opportunity. That lead was cut down one when the Red Wings answered with 17 seconds left in the frame.

The club pulled ahead by one early in the second period, a goal that was answered twice by the Red Wings to tie the game 3-3. But the Jets came back with another in the last three minutes to make it 4-3 heading into the third.

Despite 10 chances in the last 20 minutes, the Jets just couldn’t make one count. Not so for the Red Wings, who picked up two, tying the game, then pulling ahead for the win.

The Loss brings the Jets to a 2-1-0 record three games in.

They take on the Stony Plain Flyers Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. in Morinville at the Ladrex Arena.
