Here is a recap of this past week’s U13, U15, and U18 Sting games

U18 AA Sting

The Sturgeon U18 Sting played two games over the weekend, a home game against the Camrose Vikings on Saturday night and a road game against the Lloydminster Blazers on Sunday.

The Sting lost 4-1 in the first outing and won 10-1 in their Sunday road game.

In their Saturday home game, the Sting ended the first frame tied 1-1 with Camrose but dropped another three in the second period to trail 4-1. That’s where the board stopped for the remaining 20.

Sunday was a different matter. The Sting led the first period 3-0 before adding on another three in the middle frame to end the period leading 6-1. The Sting kept Lloydminster off the board while pocketing another four to end the game 10-1.

Ryan Rivard and William Kinsella each picked up a pair of goals during the game.

The Sting hosts Beaumont on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. and play the TRAC Wolverines on the road on Oct. 29.

U15 AA Sting

The Sting played two games this past week, a road game against the St. Albert Blues on Wednesday night and a home game against the NEBC Yukon Trackers on Friday night.

Wednesday’s road game saw the Sting fall 4-1, with Dallas Kuzio getting the Sting’s only goal unassisted.

Friday night saw the Sting defeated 12-1 at home, Gavin Richardson getting the Sting’s only goal of the game, assisted by Isaac Pelletier and Nathan Morgan.

The Sting hosts the KC Shamrocks on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 8 p.m. and travels to Beaumont on Friday, Oct. 21.

U13 AA Sting

The Sting played two games this week, a road game on Saturday against the MLAC Trusted Trades and a home game against the SSAC TRAXX Coachlines on Sunday.

Saturday’s road game resulted in an 8-1 loss for the Sting. Results were not available on Sunday’s game by our Sunday evening deadline.

The Sting hosts the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2:30 p.m. and the GPAC Minhas Brothers Group Storm on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
