Collision near Sturgeon Industrial Park claims one life

RCMP have cleared the collision scene on Highway 825 near the Sturgeon Industrial Park.

Although the investigation is still ongoing, RCMP report that two passenger vehicles had a head-on collision.  Unfortunately, as a result of the collision, one of the drivers, a 26-year-old male resident of Sturgeon County was deceased.  The driver of the other vehicle, a 22-year-old female resident of Fort McMurray, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injures.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP along with an RCMP Collision Analyst, had both North and Southbound traffic redirected for several hours while they conducted the investigation.  RCMP continue to investigate the potential causes of this tragic event.
