The Morinville Senior AA Kings hit the road to face Westlock Warriors on Saturday night, returning with another two points for their 5-3 win.

Tied at one apiece after 20 and outshooting the Warriors 19-12, the Kings picked up another three goals in the middle frame to lead the night 4-2. The last period was a mirror image of the first, with both clubs capitalizing on their chances once to end the night 5-3 in Morinville’s favour.

The Kings had a great night for powerplays, picking up three of their tally during seven powerplay opportunities.

Alden Dupuis picked up first star of the game and Kings’ backstop Ty Swabb took the third star of the game.

The Saturday win brings the Kings to a 3-1-0 record this season and third place in the league, two points behind the Lacombe Generals and four points behind the Camrose Crush.

Saturday also marked the end of a series of road games for the Kings. The club returns to home ice Saturday, Nov. 5 to face the Devon Barons at 8 p.m.
