Below is a recap of the Sturgeon sting teams this past week.

U13AA Sting

The Sturgeon U13AA Sting lost both of their game this week, falling 8-3 to the St Albert Stars on the road on Saturday, and 12-1 to the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers on the road Sunday.

Zhaine Arcand got two of the Sting’s three goals on Saturday, Trey Langford the other. Brody Boulerice got the Sting’s only goal on Sunday.

The Sting have just one game this week, a road game to face the  Lakeland Panthers on Saturday.

U15AA Sting

The Sturgeon U15AA SDting had just one game this week, a home game against the KC Voyageurs. The Sting emerged from that outing with a 5-3 win.

Liam Rentz led the day for the Sting capturing three of the club’s five goals, one in the first period and two in the third. Lukas Boissonnault picked up the other two, one in the second and one in the third period.

The Sting play the Lakeland Panthers at home Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. and take on the Camrose Vikings on Sunday, Nov. 13 on the road.

U18AA Sting

The U18AA Sting won one and lost one this past week. The Sting picked up a 7-3 win over the St. Albert Crusaders on the road Wednesday and fell  8-5 to the KC Colts at home Sunday, Nov. 6.

The Sting started their night Wednesday leading the Crusaders 3-0 after one, Hayden McClure, William Kinsella and Ryan Rivard picking up the first three goals. Rivard went on in the middle frame to grab the Sting’s next two, earning himself a natural hat trick. Although St. Albert would answer back with one, the Sting headed into the final period leading 5-1. St. Albert added another two to their tally early in the final frame, but those were answered by Josh Konanz at 1:22 and Steve Andusiak with 39 seconds left in the game to give the Sting a 7-3 win.

Sunday’s game saw the sting trailing 3-2 after one, and 7-3 after two before falling 8-5 after 60. Jeremy Letourneau, William Kinsella, Emmitt Boucher, Ryan Rivard, and Steve Andusiak each picked up a goal during the game.

The Sting have one game this week, a home game against the SSAC Don Wheaton on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 5:15 p.m.

Sturgeon Fillies

The Sturgeon Fillies, SU650 in the Edmonton Federation Hockey League (EFHL), continued their inaugural season over the weekend, losing 11-3 to LE604 on Saturday and tying 5-5 with EG605 in Legal on Sunday.

The win and tie brings the Fillies to a 1-3-2 record six games into the season.
