A couple of years ago, Morinville resident Riley Quinn, well-known in the community as a musician, decided to shift gears and take a shot at becoming a full-time writer. Putting other projects in his life on hold, he put his full attention into writing, and last spring released his first novel, The Lost Boys. His second book, The Cove, will be published Apr. 24.

Alberta added another 98 COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the provincial total to 1348, 60.6% of which are in Calgary Zone. A total of 953 cases are laboratory confirmed and 395 are probable cases (symptomatic close contacts of laboratory confirmed cases). Recoveries in the province have risen to 361, an increase of 82 since Sunday’s update. The new provincial total of 1348 includes the 361 recoveries and 24 deaths. Alberta added another 69 COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the provincial total to 1250, 62% of those in Calgary. Of the provincial total of 1250, 919 cases are laboratory confirmed, and 331 are probable cases, which are symptomatic close contacts of laboratory-confirmed cases. The government says the laboratory positivity rates remain consistent at two per cent.
Alberta added another 106 confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the provincial total to 1181. For the first time, the province’s daily update has separated suspected from confirmed cases. Fifty-one of the new 106 cases are laboratory confirmed, and 55 are probable (symptomatic close contacts of laboratory-confirmed).
COVID-19 cases in Alberta crossed the 1000 case mark on Friday. Alberta’s Premier Jason Kenney said there were 107 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total provincial cases to date to 1075. That number includes 196 Albertans who have recovered, an increase of 24 in the past 24 hours. […]
With the annual Easter Egg hunt cancelled this year, the Town of Morinville has decided to celebrate Easter a little differently this year. The Town is inviting residents and businesses to decorate their front windows to show some Easter cheer.
