Morinville – Rising waters on 97 Street and 79 Avenue in South Glens prompted many phone calls to Town of Morinville offices Tuesday as well as a visit from Edmonton’s CTV to investigate the matter.

Melting snow caused a storm pond in the Morinville subdivision to overflow and make its way into the intersection of the two streets as well as backyards. Open house to revisit the future shape of Morinville’s downtown area

Morinville – Seven months after the Town’s last open house on the possible shape of a future downtown Morinville, the Town is planning another event that indicates the preferred shape is likely to be round. Morinville’s Planning and Development Department will hold a public open house on the Highway 642 Functional Planning Study (FPS) Apr. 25. The event will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. A formal presentation on the project will take place at 7:15 p.m.

The purpose of the FPS is to develop a long-term plan for 100 Avenue that ensures traffic and pedestrian safety on the road, deals with long-term access management into properties off the highway, determines future road requirements and required right-of-ways to allow for growth… […]

Primeau’s Beauty and the Beast ends successful two-day run

Georges H. Primeau School brought Beauty and the Beast to the stage of the Morinville Community Cultural Centre Apr. 16 and 17. The show presented by teachers O’Gorman, Rivet, Workun and Riley brought together a cast and crew of 32 students plus a school choir. After many weeks of practices and dress rehearsals, the students performed the classic story for other students Apr. 16 before raising the curtain on the first public show that evening. CAO says decision to wave fines based on legal recommendation

Morinville – In a joint press release issued Apr. 10, Champion Petfoods and the Town of Morinville announced they had found some common ground on odour mitigation. In consideration for Champion staying the course on their odour mitigation efforts, the Town would wave $5,400 in tickets Champion had been issued prior to making progress on reducing odour from the local plant.
