Morinville resident speaks at Be Brave Ranch opening

Many tears were shed Saturday afternoon as people hugged one another, joyful that a dream to had become a reality. Little Warriors held the official grand opening celebrations of the Be Brave Ranch by Ray LaBonte and Family, a facility that offers children who have been sexually abused and their families a place to heal. The ranch will offer abused children more than 200 hours of multiple therapies to help them grow into healthy adults. For years Lions Club members have been collecting can tabs and other aluminum items to be sent to the Devon Lions Club, from where they are sold in bulk. The funds received are placed in a wheelchair account to be used to purchase a manual or powered wheelchair for an individual in need nominated by one of the participating Lions Clubs. A Morinville woman turned adversity into hope with a fundraiser in aid of the Alberta Cancer Foundation over the weekend. The Leap of Faith Golf Tournament, Silent Auction and Show and Shine took place Aug. 16 at Terrae Pines Golf Course and the Morinville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 176. A Morinville woman is turning adversity into hope with an upcoming fundraiser in aid of the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The Leap of Faith Golf Tournament, Silent Auction and Show and Shine will take place Aug. 16 at Terrae Pines Golf Course and the Morinville Legion, and is seeking to raise $5,000 for the cause. The tournament, a four-ball / best-ball game, is open to golfers of all ages. Cost of the tournament is $80 per person and includes green fees, golf cart, and a steak dinner…. […]
