Morinville – The Titans’ cheer squad got a real workout Sunday night running up and down the bleachers whenever their team rippled the mesh. Given the Titans’ 11-6 victory over the Edmonton Ice, the squad seemed to run the length of the rink as much as the team they were cheering for.

Morinville – Sixteen games into a 38-game season, the Morinville Jets stand middle of the pack in the CJHL’s west division and middle of their own record at .500 hockey. And while that may be nothing to boast about for a team that is not lacking in talent but has had difficulty in reaping the harvest of its own bounty this season, Sunday afternoon’s 11-4 victory over the equally-matched Wetaskiwin Icemen showed fans a more disciplined Jets team than has been seen for much of this season.

Morinville – Halloween seemed to have taken its toll on the Morinville Titans Sunday night. Despite only one defeat in eight outings, the Titans were more than sluggish Oct. 31, tying their game against the visiting SWZ Sentinels late in the third period. The 3-3 tie gave both clubs a point for their efforts and the Titans a 4-1-3 record on the season.

Morinville – Halloween put an unwanted candy in the St. Albert Merchant’s pillowcase Sunday afternoon. The Jets (6-7-1) pulled out of a 5-2 deficit at the end of the second period to take the game 6-5, their second come-from-behind victory over the Merchants this season. The Jets had previously overcome a 5-0 deficit in St. Albert’s barn Oct. 1 to win the game 6-5.

Morinville – The troubled Morinville Jets (4-7-1) put an end to a five-game losing streak Friday night with a 10-5 victory over the 6-3-2 Spruce Grove Regals, the number two team in the CJHL’s west division. However, Sunday afternoon’s home-ice contest against the West division’s top-ranked Beverly Warriors resulted in a 6-4 loss for the Jets.

Legal – The Legal Vipers played to a full house Saturday night, giving their fans what they came for, a home opener victory. After picking up a 4-1 road victory over the Drayton Valley Wildcats Oct. 16, the Vipers sank their fangs into the Edson Ice, handily defeating the visiting club 12-5.
