A private meeting has been scheduled for Nov. 18 to discuss the future of the Cardiff Corner intersection. MLA Maureen Kubinec, the Minister of Transportation, Honourable Ric McIver, Mayor Lisa Holmes, Sturgeon County Mayor Tom Flynn, and Deputy Mayor Gord Putnam will all be in attendance. Morinville – The idea of roundabouts in Morinville’s downtown core drew questions from some of the 50 residents and business owners who came out to hear the latest progress on the Highway 642 Functional Planning Study (FPS) Thursday night. The Town and province believe the project will create a long-term plan for 100 Avenue that ensures traffic and pedestrian safety while easing the issues that have stalled development in Morinville’s downtown core.

Morinville – Seven months after the Town’s last open house on the possible shape of a future downtown Morinville, the Town is planning another event that indicates the preferred shape is likely to be round. Morinville’s Planning and Development Department will hold a public open house on the Highway 642 Functional Planning Study (FPS) Apr. 25. The event will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. A formal presentation on the project will take place at 7:15 p.m.
