Morinville – Long time volunteer Lillian Boddez got to rub elbows with Premier Alison Redford and The Honourable Donald S. Ethell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, Wednesday afternoon. Boddez, a lifelong resident of Morinville, was one of more than 100 Albertans presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in a special ceremony held in Edmonton. Morinville elects its six councillors

Morinville – Voters went to the polls Monday to choose six of 10 candidates to serve on Morinville Town Council for the next three years. After Morinville’s mayor and council were acclaimed last election, voters were pleased to not only have an election this time but also 10 candidates to choose from. The last time Morinville had an election was 2004, during which two candidates ran for mayor and six for council.

Morinville councillors looking to keep their seats

Morinville – Four veteran councillors were still in the running 24 hours after nominations closed Monday. Candidates had until noon Tuesday to withdraw their nomination papers.
