Morinville and surrounding area is abuzz with activities this weekend. Friday night and Saturday offer a number of possibilities for arts, culture and sports.
Book launch and workshop
Marty Chan will release his new book Barnabas Bigfoot – A Close Shave Friday evening from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. Following the event, Chan and Jessica Kluthe will conduct a writer’s workshop. There is no cost to participate in the workshop. Lizzy Hoyt concert
The Lizzy Hoyt concert takes place Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the Community Cultural Centre box office or at www.tixonthesquare.ca. For more info, call 780-420-1757.
Sturgeon County Bounty
Producers and chefs from around the region will assemble at Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the third instalment of the Sturgeon County Bounty. Full story can be found here.
Hockey Day in Morinville
The Morinville Jets will host a day of hockey with two alumni games, two minor hockey games and a salute to the military during their regular season game Saturday night. Full story can be found here.
