Morinville RCMP to host 10th Citizen’s Academy

Morinville RCMP detachment is inviting anyone age 16 and over to apply to attend the 10th RCMP Citizen’s Academy which will start on January 23rd, 2012 and run for 10 Mondays. The Academy is a set of presentations designed to increase communication with the police and understanding among residents of the Morinville Detachment area of crime prevention and policing methods.

This Program has received support and accolades from the Solicitor General of Alberta and the RCMP for its impact on community.

In previous years, presentations have been made on drugs, counterfeit money, among other topics. Ind addition, Citizen’s Academy members get to meet the local officers and tour the local Detachment as well as “K” division, including the Headquarter gun range and special areas reserved for the Academy.
