At approximately 11:12 am Morinville RCMP were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2 between Township Road 572 and secondary highway 651.
RCMP investigation determined a south bound passenger vehicle swerved into a the lane of a north bound semi tractor. The lone occupant of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead on scene.
A third passenger vehicle which was following the semi was stuck with debris following the collision.
No other injuries were sustained and the identity of the deceased is not being released.
Highway 2 has been reopened, however crews are still working on removing the semi tractor from the ditch.
Police are asking motorists to be mindful and slow down when passing this area.
