Gibbons bank robbery suspect arrested

Edmonton – RCMP apprehended three men and one woman Friday morning in relation to a series of armed robberies in rural Alberta, including last Tuesday’s robbery of the Alberta treasury Branch in Gibbons. The suspects were arrested in the Beverly area of Edmonton.

Police confirmed one of the individuals was 34-year-old Franklin Gladue of no fixed address. He is facing numerous armed robbery charges with other charges pending.

Police also confirmed that the two other males arrested are youths the RCMP were seeking as Gladue’s alleged accomplices in the armed robbery investigation. Charges are pending against these youths. RCMP are not releasing the identity of the female they arrested.

Police are currently investigating seven armed robberies that occurred in Lac La Biche, Wildwood, Bonneyville, Millet, Onoway, Wetaskiwin and Gibbons.

The Gibbons ATB was robbed Jan. 18 and police reported a teller was injured during the robbery despite cooperating with the robbers.
