Pub robbed in Gibbons

Gibbons – Jinglers Pub in Gibbons was the scene of an armed robbery early Sunday morning. Police say they responded to an armed robbery call at approximately 12:45 a.m. Jan. 15.

Information gleaned from the investigation by Morinville RCMP indicates a lone male wearing a red balaclava approached the till area, produced a knife and demanded money. Police say the suspect was described as a tall, slender white male wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket. The suspect departed with an undisclosed amount of money.

The RCMP Police Dog and Forensic Identification Section attended the crime scene contained by RCMP members. Members patrolled the community in the hopes of obtaining additional evidence and witnesses.

The investigation is ongoing, and Morinville RCMP are asking for the help of the public in solving this crime.
