Charity run
The Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation 5km walk/run started at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning from the Provincial Building on 107 Street. JMMF Race Director Laura Hennie said to date more than $10,000 had been raised from the event for the organization.

Duty of tour
Max Mayer, Donald Fairweather and David Mercier were getting ready Sunday morning for their 9 a.m. departure on a 54-kilometre warm up for the Tour de l’Alberta. Celebrating his 85 birthday Monday, Mayer was the first to arrive for the training and ready to go.
Derby’s on
Members of the Sturgeon County Junior Roller Derby Association and Rez City Rippers put on a roller derby demonstration and show Saturday during St. Jean Baptiste Festival. St. Albert’s Heavenly Rollers were originally scheduled to skate the event.
