New Morinville Christian School (MCS) Principal Rachel Ritchot came from Kelowna, BC where she ran an after-school program. Before that, she taught in Fort St. John. Ritchot will be teaching the senior students and oversee the more than 40 students attending the K to 12 school this year.
Ritchot said the school uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) program where students work on their own and she supervises their learning.

Ritchot said her teaching career is based on the needs of students, and she enjoys spending a lot of time on the art and décor, wanting children to feel welcome and safe while they learn academically. She has decorated the learning room and did a painting on the wall.
“I Love it. I am excited. I have great inertia behind me, great opportunities,” Ritchot said, adding she felt there was a steep learning curve ahead. “Lots on my plate, but I am happy to get up and be in a classroom.”
