Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools have a new Board Chair. Trustee Serena Shaw, who has served on the Board since 2013, was elected Board Chair by acclamation at the Division’s Sept. 26 Organizational Meeting. Shaw replaces Morinville Ward Trustee Noreen Radford in the role. Trustee Rosalee McEvoy will continue in the role of Vice-Chair.
“It’s a privilege to take on the role of Chair, and to have unanimous support from my fellow trustees,” Shaw said in a Sept. 27 release. “As a parent in the District; it’s important to me to model for my two daughters, the significance of service to your community. I look forward to serving our families and our staff, who value education and the faith development of our students, as future citizens and leaders in our communities.
“This is an exciting year for our District as we continue the work on the opening of two new schools – a K-6 in Morinville and a K-9 in St. Albert. I’m blessed to be part of this opportunity to expand Catholic education in our communities.”
Starting in October, the Board will begin consultation on attendance boundaries and programming for Sister Alphonse Academy in St. Albert, as well as engaging the public on topics of importance to families in the District.
Greater St. Albert Catholic has seven trustees, representing 16 schools in the District. The St. Albert Trustees include Joe Becigneul, Joan Crockett, Vice-Chair Rosaleen McEvoy, and Board Chair Serena Shaw.
