For the past 10 years, in memory of Brian Puchala, the family has sent a total of 15 children from Sturgeon Hockey Club to the Okanagan Hockey Camp in Penticton BC., fees paid.
Brian had a love for hockey. The Puchala family would plan a yearly holiday around the hockey school for their son Geoff in the beautiful Okanagan.
This year the three recipients that received the award were Trinity Duchscher, Parks Beck and Gavin Richardson.
These kids had the experience of a lifetime and memories they will never forget.
With the anticipation of what COVID-19 would hold, with a few tweaks of the program, the Okanagan Hockey School was able to fulfil the camp.
Showing his continued love for hockey and seeing the children’s success, Geoff Puchala spent time with the kids during the week-long camp to see their success first hand.
