Some of the programs at the MCCC are coming back and the Lunch & Learn Workshops is one of them.

These Adult Programs for 55+ are provided by the St. Albert & Sturgeon Primary Care Network (SASPCN) and Morinville Family & Community Support Services (FCSS).

The first one since COVID 19 was held Friday at the MCCC from 10 to noon and the topic was the Mediterranean Diet with SASPCN Health Educator Stephanie Karkutly.

The basics of the Mediterranean Diet was covered as well as lifestyle pattern and the many well-known health benefits such as reduced cardiovascular risk, improved blood sugar control and the positive impacts on mental health.

More Lunch and Learn Workshops are being scheduled through to November.
Personal lunch boxes were provided to participants and a face mask was required when social distancing was not possible.

Tentatively scheduled for October is the topic of Influenza and for November Fall Prevention and people can watch for announcements.
