The Father’s House Church n Sturgeon County is hosting a free community event Friday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Parents are invited to bring their children dressed up in their Halloween costumes to collect candy, play games, and paint some pumpkins. All activities and games will be outside in the church’s parking lot.

There will be COVID guidelines in place to ensure the safety of everyone who attends.

“The goal of this event is to reach out to the children and families in our community, and let them know that there are people who care for them,” said Children’s Ministry Coordinator Stacey Sampson. “Come out for a community-focused and socially responsible evening.”

In addition to collecting candy and playing games, Sampson said there will be an open-top walk-through maze with walls made of tarps and lit up with glow sticks.

“Families and kids can try to find their way out by walking through together one cohort or family at a time with some fun prizes at the end,” Sampson explained.

Youth in Grades 7 to 12 are also invited to participate Friday. Laser tag and other games will be played indoors after the Trunk and Treat.

The Father’s House is located next to Heritage Lake, just west of Morinville.
