Fort Saskatchewan RCMP nab more highway high flyers

submitted by Fort Saskatchewan RCMP

On September 23, 2022, at 7:12 a.m., Fort Saskatchewan RCMP were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 15 between Highway 37 and Old Fort Trail.  Police observed a northbound Toyota overtaking a motorcycle at extreme speeds.  Police used radar to confirm the Toyota’s speed to be 185km/hr in a posted 100km/hr zone.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the investigation revealed the driver was wanted out of Edmonton for a similar offence and was subsequently arrested.  The 58-year-old male driver, a resident of Edmonton, was released on a Summons to attend Court in October.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP once again reminds drivers of the importance of sharing the road and abiding by the posted speed limit.
