The Morinville Jets lost, won and won again this past week. The Jets dropped a 4-3 decision in overtime Wednesday night, won 5-4 in overtime on Friday night, and won 4-0 at home on Sunday night.
The two wins and one OT loss bring the Jets to a 7-3-1 record 11 games into the season.
Wednesday night’s road game against the Beverly Warriors ended 4-3 in overtime. The Jets and Warriors were tied one apiece after the first 20, but the Jets brought it to 3-2 after two. Beverly brought the game to a tie with eight and change left in the game and pocketed their overtime goal with 3:23 on the clock.
Friday night was another close game, albeit one with a different outcome. Tied 2-2 with the St. Albert Merchants after one, the Jets found themselves tied 3-3 after two and 4-4 after 60, the Merchants tying up once again with 11 minutes left in the game. Graeme Hampton got the overtime game-winning goal with six seconds left on the clock.

With one loss and one win for their road game efforts, the Jets returned home to the Landrex Arena on Sunday night to face the East Division’s bottom-ranked Leduc Co-op Riggers.
The Jets worked steadily through three frames to build their win, leading Leduc 1-0 after one and 2-0 after two, then adding another two to take the win 4-0.
The Jets play just one game this week, a home game against the Strathcona Bruins on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
