Morinville – The cultural centre was packed to the rafters with volunteers and community spirit Friday night as Morinville recognized volunteerism in the community at its annual awards night. This year’s event carried a tropical theme complete with Polynesian dancers, island foods, and plenty of wiki tiki kitsch from the table centrepieces to the overall décor.

Morinville – Council held its nose and voted 5-1 in favour of reallocating grant monies to pay for the Civic Place renovations now estimated at $4.2 million. Council had hit the roof Feb. 28 when representatives from ONPA Architects and Synergy Projects Ltd. delivered the news project costs had escalated but would not exceed $4 million. Champion compliance agreement targets May

Morinville – Two months after unanimously voting in favour of pursuing a compliance agreement with Champion Petfoods over outstanding odour issues, the document is yet to be signed by the two parties. It was anticipated both the Town of Morinville and pet food manufacturer would ink the agreement by mid-April.
