Jets grab game one in best-of-three series

Reading Time: 1 minute

The freezing rain didn’t stop the Morinville Jets from freezing the Edmonton Mustangs in their tracks Friday night. The Jets took game one in a best-of-three playoff series 7-3 at home.

The Junior B club did not spend any time licking their wounds from a rough 10-2 regular season defeat by the St. Albert Merchants Feb. 10.

The boys came from behind a 1-0 lead to tie the first period 1-1. Twenty minutes later and some action at both ends of the rink and the tally was 4-3 in the Jets favour. The final frame saw the Jets pour it on to take another three goals and the first game in the series 7-3.

The Jets take to the road Sunday night for game two. That contest takes place at 8 p.m. at the Bill Hunter Arena in Edmonton.
