Firefighters gather for year end recognition

The Morinville Fire Department held their 2013 Appreciation Christmas Party Saturday night, an opportunity for the department’s members and their spouses to celebrate the season and their accomplishments.

Katherine Cust, Cody Gervais and Ben Lamer were presented with helmet flashes recognizing their three years of service to the department. Brett Wilson received a five-year service plaque, Steven Gaetz a 10-year ring, Barry Woodruff and Steve Hammon each received 15-year service watches, and Fire Chief Ron Cust was presented with a clock for his 35 years of service to the department.

The evening included a couple of rank promotions as well. Barret Dupuis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenent and Steve Hammond was promoted to the rank of Captain.

A number of training certificates were presented along with other awards.

Fire Chief Ron Cust is presented with a clock recognizing his 35 years of service to the Morinville Fire Department.
