Letter: Former Morinville resident to have hospital named after her

Team Alberta is excited to share incredible news of a Morinville Community High School Graduate (2000) and former resident. Worldwide EndoMarch’s Team Uganda with Dr. Denis Sszenzki are honouring the work of our leader and founder, Brandi CK La Perle by naming the new midwifery teaching hospital for endometriosis care for her. In May 2017, Brandi CK will travel with a delegation of Team Alberta’s provincial leadership, endometriosis patients, and family to attend the official groundbreaking ceremony.

Brandi CK is a fearless leader dedicated to advocating and supporting the 500,000 Canadian women suffering in silence with incurable endometriosis. She is an accomplished actress working in film and television, published writer in viral publications such as the Mighty and Hormones Matter, international model, Canadian International Marketing Director- Emerald Marketing International & Emerald Select, Regional Account Manager- Tigris Personnel, public speaker, Spokesmodel and Brand Ambassador for Canadian cosmetics company JoCool cosmetics, stand-up comedian, event host, and founder/Co-Precinct Manager in partnership with Dr. Sandra Engstrom in Scotland, UK for Worldwide Endomarch’s Team Alberta.

Canadian aboriginal designer, Derek Jagodzinsky has personally selected the gift Brandi CK will present to the First Lady of Uganda (the Lady Di of Africa) which is a hand painted handbag with the image of a teepee on the Alberta Prairies at dusk. Derek’s Luxx RTW has dressed First Lady Sophie-Gregoire Trudeau, Kim Kardashian, and Brandi CK when she performed comedy at the Western Canadian Fashion Top Model Awards in 2015.

Joining the delegation to Africa will be New York comedian Mike Dambra, Calgary’s Daryl Makk, Edmonton’s Sterling Scott (currently on tour in Los Angeles), William Hannigan, and Master of Ceremonies Ben Proulx for the honour to perform an Alberta Endometriosis Awarness Comedy Show for the esteemed hosts in Kampala. Comedy is a wildly popular entertainment in the country and we are excited to share the gift of healing laughter.

As a model and spokesperson, Brandi CK uses her platform to raise awareness for endometriosis which is recognized by the CEO of Emerald Marketing International, John C. Emerald of Atlanta. Popular Alberta photographer Zev Vitaly Abosh, and international model Niki Middleton will be joining Emerald Girls models and photographers from around the world for an exclusive special edition Emerald photoshoot on location in Uganda featuring the rich fashions of both Canadian and Ugandan designers. Emerald will be donating a portion of profits from all international magazine sales, poster sales, events, photoshoots, and signings in 27 markets around the world as Team Alberta’s gift to Team Uganda. Publication from a Morinville area Emerald Girls photoshoot at the Kuzio estate will be released in August with more exciting announcements!

We would like to thank Morinville’s RV City, Wayne & Dawn Kuzio, Kerry & Wanitta La Perle, and the Morinville community for the tremendous support.

  1. I met Brandi CK La Perle after being connected by a friend of her’s online a couple years ago. When I fist moved provinces, I saw a community article about her struggles with Endometriosis, which I kept posted on my fridge for years. See, having endometriosis is a very alienating experience. Since joining facebook forums online my life has been gradually turning around. People like Brandi CK La Perle are giving us hope, and making us feel less alone by connecting us with group gatherings like the Worldwide Endo March and several other functions she coordinates. She is so deserving of this honor. The kindest person you’ll ever meet. Full of compassion and so dedicated and determined to evoke change for the better care of all of us endometriosis warriors.
