Alberta Culture Days in Legal

ACFA hosted Alberta Culture Days in Legal at the Centralta Community Centre.
The judging for the sugar pie baking contest also took place with the winner, Sydalie Legault, to represent the Centralta Region and advance to the grand finale at the provincial Francophone Convention in Edmonton on 14 October.
ACFA Centralta Region Director Josee Cote presented the Certificate to the winner on Sunday afternoon after the pie tasting results were tabulated.
The two-day event featured food, clothing, and music of Alberta cultures with French, Ivory Coast, Metis Nation, Tunisia and Colombia displays and activities.
Sharon Morin attended with members of the Metis Youth Jiggers, who performed the Red River Jig and a Heel-Toe Polka.
Morin spoke of the Metis sash, its history and its many uses by men and women.
There was also entertainment by Cristian de La Luna, Olivier Renaud and Julien Leeb.
Taste of food included the individually wrapped Maple Taffy Cones, Empanadas from Columbia and Guava and Cheese, bannock from Metis Nation and Couscous and Tea from Tunisia.
