The Morinville Junior B Jets took both their games this past weekend, defeating the Spruce Grove Regals 9-2 on the road Friday night and defeating the visiting Edmonton Mustangs 10-4 at home on Sunday.
The two wins bring the Jets’ record to 5-3-0 this season.
Friday night saw the Jets leading the Regals 3-0 after one and 4-1 after two. The Jets added another five to their tally in the final frame, while Spruce Grove’s only goal came on a powerplay opportunity midway through the period.
Sunday’s game saw the Jets leading by a narrow margin at 4-3 after 40 minutes, but the club piled it on in the final frame to rack up another six goals to Edmonton’s single contribution.
The Jets hit the road this week to play the Warriors on Wednesday night and then return home Sunday to face the Leduc Co-Op Riggers at 7:30 p.m.
