Kings ram Rams

The Morinville Kings earned a 6-2 victory over the Rocky Rams on the road Saturday night, the Senior AA club’s first win in three outings.

The Kings built from a 1-0 first period lead to head into the final frame with a 3-1 lead. Keeping the Rams scoreless in the final frame, the Kings popped on another three goals to widen the margin by four.

Cole Cavell lead the Kings in scoring with two of the six goals, both coming in the final half of the final period.

Saturday night’s win puts the Kings in second slot with a 5-2-0 record, two points behind the Devon Barons.

The Kings Kyle Harris currently leads the league with 15 points. Four of the league’s top 10 scoring leaders play for the Kings.

The team will have the chance to move ahead of Devon Saturday night when the play the Barons at home.

Game time is 8:30 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre.
