Council and residents clash over AUMA spending

Legal – Council Chambers played home to a sometimes heated exchange between Legal Council and Legal residents Jeannie and Dan Charrois. At issue was the approximate $7,650 being spent to send the whole of council and some administrative staff to the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association conference and trade show in Edmonton later this month.

St. Jean given third term as mayor by council

Legal – A week after Alberta municipalities went to the polls, Albert St. Jean has received a third term as mayor of Legal. Unlike Morinville, Gibbons, Bon Accord and Sturgeon County, who hold separate elections for mayor; Legal continues to elect five councillors whom then elect the Town’s mayor from within at their organizational meeting.
