Local Scouts will pick up their torches Wednesday night for Scouting’s annual torchlight parade.

The event honours Scouting’s founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, who in addition to being the founder of the Scouting movement, was a lieutenant-general in the British Army. 1st Morinville Scouting will march through Cardiff park with their torches to celebrate Baden-Powell in particular and the movement he started, in general.

Songs, skits and cheers follow the annual torchlight march.

The event takes place at Cardiff Park Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. for more information contact Adam at adam.roddis@dignitymemorial.com or Mitch at meethier@xplornet.com.
