Sturgeon County – Morinville RCMP are investigating the discovery of what is believed to be human remains. The RCMP Detachment was contacted by a surveyor Wednesday morning advising he had discovered what he believed to be human remains in a field in Sturgeon County.

Sturgeon County – A mid-morning fire Tuesday destroyed a tin barn at the Smokin’ Elk Ranch just outside Morinville and caused an estimated $600,000 to $700,000 in damages. Crews were called in from Morinville, Sturgeon County, Legal and Namao to combat the fire.

Morinville – Westlock County Councillor Maureen Kubinec ensured Barrhead-Morinville-Westlock remained in PC hands Monday night after garnering 45 per cent of the vote.
