Alberta’s Culture and Tourism Minister Ricardo Miranda unveiled details of a new Anti-Racism Community Grant Program on Tuesday. The government says the $2 million in grants will help communities combat racial discrimination, develop acceptance and promote diversity and inclusion.
Monday’s provincial announcement of $600,000 in grant funding for climate literacy programs did not sit well with the Wildrose, with the opposition party calling the spending “an offensive waste of Albertans’ money that will be used to further the government’s out-of-touch carbon tax agenda.”
KidSport Alberta’s Elite Performance Grant application process has opened. Under the program, eligible athletes could receive $500 for training. The grant is sponsored by Encana and the Tara Sloan Memorial Foundation.
