Primeau’s Beauty and the Beast ends successful two-day run

Georges H. Primeau School brought Beauty and the Beast to the stage of the Morinville Community Cultural Centre Apr. 16 and 17. The show presented by teachers O’Gorman, Rivet, Workun and Riley brought together a cast and crew of 32 students plus a school choir. After many weeks of practices and dress rehearsals, the students performed the classic story for other students Apr. 16 before raising the curtain on the first public show that evening. CAO says decision to wave fines based on legal recommendation

Morinville – In a joint press release issued Apr. 10, Champion Petfoods and the Town of Morinville announced they had found some common ground on odour mitigation. In consideration for Champion staying the course on their odour mitigation efforts, the Town would wave $5,400 in tickets Champion had been issued prior to making progress on reducing odour from the local plant.

Morinville – The Town’s Community Services department is once again in search of someone to work with Morinville youth after Kelsie Sharun, Morinville’s latest youth worker, announced she would be leaving Apr. 17 to accept a position with Edmonton Public Schools as a substitute teacher.

Morinville – Property owners are set to pay 3.68 per cent more in total property taxes than they did in 2012 now that Council has passed second and third reading of the 2013 Property Tax Bylaw. Council had given first reading to the bylaw Mar. 26, at which time it was revealed the owner of the average Morinville property could expect to pay about $100 more on their spring tax bill than they did last year
