It was an evening in China for local businesses Thursday night during the Morinville and District Chamber of Commerce’s annual Awards Night Gala. This year’s event sold more than 230 tickets, a 40 per cent increase in turnout over 2014’s event. At their Oct. 27 regular meeting, Council unanimously passed all three readings of an Intermunicipal Affairs Committee Bylaw, which aims to encourage greater cooperation between the Town and Sturgeon County.

Morinville Community High School (MCHS) was the recipient of two cheques from Morinville Sobeys last week. Store owners Shaun and Susie Thompson presented the school with a cheque for $529.23 for the school’s Urban Agriculture program, and one for $1226.38 for the school’s HOWLS (Honour, Ownership, Welcoming, Leadership and Safety) program.
