United Steel Workers support JMMF

The United Steel Workers Local 1207 have presented the Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation (JMMF) with a cheque for $33,000. The monies were presented Sunday morning at the start of the JMMF run during Festival Days. Tribute benefits students

Rebecca Balanko and Ben Holland made a donation to Morinville Public School as a tribute to their father. It is a buddy bench which serves as a blessing and benefit for all students.

The bench was officially brought outside during recess on Thursday morning to be used for the first time. The plaque on the bench reads “Forever and Always, In Loving Memory of Tom Holland Our Dad, Grandpa and Friend.”

Author and journalist, Shari Narine, is kicking off her book tour at the Morinville Public Library (MPL) on June 19.

Narine’s book, Oil Change at Rath’s Garage (published by Thistledown Press) was released in May and briefly made it to the top of the Edmonton’s Best Seller List for fictional books.
