Enbridge supports Sturgeon Foundation project

On Oct. 13 Lisa Seeley, Enbridge Community Relations Advisor and Ian Melligan, Manager Enbridge Pipeline Services Western Region presented a $7500 cheque to the Sturgeon Foundation. The presentation took place at the Spruce View Manor in Gibbons with Jim Fowler Director of Accommodation Services accepting on behalf of the foundation. The money will be used to cover the cost of installing more than 100 smoke detectors and fire extinguishers in every self-contained unit under the Sturgeon Foundation umbrella. This consists of units at Sunrise and Sunset Villas in Legal, Pinecrest Gardens in Gibbons, Sunridge Sunset Manors in Bon Accord, Heritage Lodge and Lions Manor in Morinville, the Golden Villa in Redwater and Chateau Mission Court in St. Albert. Morinville – Four seniors lodge managers found themselves out of work at the end of April as part of an organizational renewal taking place within the Sturgeon Foundation, a seniors housing organization that operates facilities and housing units in St. Albert, Morinville, Legal, Gibbons, Bon Accord and Redwater.

Seniors’ housing benefits from Sturgeon County golfers

Sturgeon County – Two local seniors’ housing organizations will benefit from the generosity of the 172 golfers who took part in this year’s Mayor’s Golf Tournament held at Goose Hummock Golf Resort June 11. A total of $19,608 was raised at this year’s event. Of that amount, $16,807 is being donated to the Sturgeon Foundation and the remaining $2,801 will be given to the West Sturgeon Aging in Place Foundation.
