Morinville Chamber elects new board

Morinville – New blood and succession planning were the order of the day Wednesday for the Morinville and District Chamber of Commerce. The business advocacy organization held their general annual meeting, electing the executive for the coming year and adding some new directors to the board.

Heather Folkins of Escape Travel will once again serve the organization as president. Simon Boersma with Pleasant Holmes steps in as vice president. Paula Hittinger of Shelemy Financial remains the group’s treasurer… […]

Traffic safety open house yields to resident suggestions

Morinville – Tuesday night’s Traffic and Pedestrian Safety open house at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre drew less than 30 residents, but those residents had plenty of suggestions on what Morinville could do to improve safety on the streets and sidewalks around town.

Wolves do well at track provincials

Morinville – It was a terrific two days of track at the Provincial Track & Field Championships at Foote Field in Edmonton June 1 and 2. Our MCHS team was not large but they were a force! The bench mark for Provincials is usually a top 8 finish. Top 8 is considered a fantastic result due to the strong competitive level of the athletes and the fact many track athletes do track as a main sport with the hopes of full ride US university scholarship or future Canadian National/Olympic team membership… […]
