Jets past catches up with them in alumni game

Morinville – Past generations of Morinville Jets kicked off Morinville’s Lite Up the Nite Christmas Festival weekend by lighting up the scoreboard at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre. More than three dozen former Jets took to the ice in home and away jerseys playing for either Team Welsby or Team Maslyk, teams named for former Jet coaches Tom Welsby and Terry Maslyk.

Community comes through to help Fill-A-Bus

Seniors pick Morinville’s best light displays

Morinville – The votes have been tallied from Wednesday night’s judging of Morinville’s Best Lights Competition. Seniors from Aspen House and Heritage Place boarded the Town bus Nov. 25 for a tour of Morinville’s businesses and residences, rating each entry on a scale of one to five for window, yard and rooftop displays as well as the overall effect.

Library to host crafty fundraiser this weekend

Morinville – The Morinville Public Library is taking over the Morinville Parish Hall this Saturday to host a Christmas Craft Fair. The annual event, which takes place during Morinville’s Christmas Festival weekend, brings together local craft makers to showcase what they have to offer to local Christmas shoppers.

But while the craft show provides one-stop-shopping that can help people whittle away at their Christmas gift giving list, it also helps the library throughout the rest of the year.
