Seniors may have access to low-interest home equity loans

The NDP government is hoping a new bill will let seniors improve the safety and sustainability of their homes.

Bill 5, the Seniors’ Home Adaptation and Repair program, would create a new low-interest home equity loan program to allow qualifying senior homeowners to finance essential home repairs and adaptations. Volunteers to be recognized next week

Volunteers and volunteerism will be celebrated Apr. 10 to 16 during National Volunteer Week. A special volunteer evening is planned for Apr. 15 at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
