Pedestrian hit by car on 100 Avenue

Morinville RCMP responded to a 911 call at approximately 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning involving a bicyclist and a car.

The car was heading westbound on 100 Avenue and struck an 11-year-old male riding his bicycle southbound on 104 Street as he was heading to school. The student was examined by EMS and released to his parents. His injuries were minor in nature. […]

Committee reverses 7.25% pay raise

A legislative committee has squashed a 7.25 per cent pay raise for legislative officers, including the provinces auditor general.

The raise was initially granted Sept. 24 in a split vote of the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices. The seven NDP members voted in favout of the increase while the opposition members, including Barrhed-Morinville-Westlock MLA Glenn van Dijken voting against the raise. […]
