Shop in Morinville: We have a winner

René Chevalier was the winner of our 12 Shops of Christmas contest. Participating businesses drew one name each to narrow the field down to 12, and we drew René’s name Dec. 20. Mr. Chevalier chose to spend his $500 prize at JM Turner Goldsmith ($300), The Flower Stop ($100) and Liquor on Main ($100).

The Morinville & District Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards ceremony Wednesday afternoon at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. Awards were presented in 11 categories. Morinville Sobeys assists MCHS with two school initiatives

Morinville Community High School (MCHS) was the recipient of two cheques from Morinville Sobeys last week. Store owners Shaun and Susie Thompson presented the school with a cheque for $430 for the school’s Urban Agriculture program, and one for $1511 for the school’s HOWLS (Honour, Ownership, Welcoming, Leadership and Safety) program.
